Promoting Your Site

Every week I successfully submit websites to targeted Search Engines.
I can do the same for you.

Promoting your website involves submitting information to each Search Engine (SE).  The submission process can be daunting.  There are literally 1000's of SEs around the globe.  I focus on just the ones in the United States** (including Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc.*).  I submit your completed website using sophisticated search engine submission optimizers to get your website listed onto targeted SEs to increase traffic to your website.
**However, if you practice in another country I will focus the promoting of your site in your country.

How does it work?

First, I create your website.  Once it is completed, or at the very least close, I will contact you regarding the information needed to submit to the SEs.  That information typically includes your information (your website name, email address, business address, phone number) and "keywords," "descriptions," and "meta tags."

Keep in mind, there is no guarantee your website will be posted instantly - in some instances not at all especially if there are errors.  Once submitted to the search engine patience is required.  Each SE utilizes "robots" to review the submitted information that seek out your website to confirm the information before adding it to their search database.  There is no way to speed up this process and it is at the "robot's discretion."  This is why I resubmit your website to the SEs several times per year.

How can I get my website listed in the Top 10?

One of the common questions I hear from customers is how to get their website listed in the top 10 searches.  This is not as easy as it may seem.  Every month there are literally millions of SE submissions - all competing for the same top listings.  There is a whole industry willing to take your money claiming to "guarantee" your website will be listed at the top.  For thousands of dollars you can obtain this purported guarantee.  Each submission is in competition with every other submission.  The process involves literally continual submissions to maintain that top spot - for a price ... a very hefty price - and no real guarantee.  The last time I checked the annual cost was about $14,000.00 for such a service.  According to the USAToday large companies pay anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 per month!  If you are a large corporation it makes sense to invest in such a service - but not for a private practice practioner.  I recommend avoiding it and I do not offer this type of service because the guarantees are in reality not sustainable guarantees at all.

What else can I do to improve my listing on Search Engines?

SEs "crawl" all over the internet looking for websites.  As fast as they are it still takes time.  With literally millions of websites being added every few months the process is becoming slower every day.  In the 90's it took only days to get listed.  Now, you need to have patience unless you want to pay for it.  Google does not require payment whereas others do.  I recommend not paying for it because eventually you too will be listed.

There are several things to consider to improve your submission and listing on SEs:

  1. Be patient.  It can take months for SEs to find and list your website.

  2. Make sure the content of your website is relevant.

  3. Use effective meta tags and keywords to promote your site (I help you with this part.)

  4. Network with others to create links - links are the equivalent of a recommendation.  As the "bots" crawl over websites they gather information from your site as well as others you have links to.  The more links the better - but not all links are as good as others.  The better links need to be reciprocal - one-way links are not as useful to you as they help the other website.  If you know of a colleague in another location, or a local colleague who works with other populations, they make excellent links.  Have your website listed on local and national professional listings (e.g., ACA, APA, local mental health sites, chamber of commerce, etc.).  Contact me about setting up links on your website from your colleague and I will arrange to have each link added to your website.

  5. Write e-articles that are posted on the web that link your website.

*Google: "We do not add all submitted URLs to our index, and we cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they will appear."
