Optimization

Optimization (or SEO) is too often touted as the holy grail of the Internet.  It is not as simple as that and unfortunately too many try to take advantage of others by claiming that it is.

Below are the basic principles of optimization:

  • Meta Tags
  • Customized website
  • Links (internal and external)
  • Search Engine listing

To master these takes time and skill - much like effective therapy.

I do take the time to ensure these principles are addressed when I develop your website.  Unlike some others, they develop the site and that is all.  As I have mentioned on other pages, what good is a website if no one can find it?  Your site needs to be searchable in the Search Engines (SE) otherwise it is just the equivalent of a doorstop.

External Links:     It is important to make sure (if you have these, and you should for your practice) your Facebook, LinkedIn, PsychologyToday, Craiglist, Yelp, Healthgrades and even Twitter accounts are linked to your website - these are your external links and in this way help "validate" the relevance of your site in the SE directories - essentially making them "power listings."  Use them.
